Dear Colleagues,
As you know, 17WCNDT was decided to be held from Aug. 27~30,2008 in Shanghai. But recently we were informed by the concerned department of Chinese government that 17WCNDT was conjunct closely to the 29th Olympic games taken place in Beijing and some games would be also held in Shanghai and other cities. Furthermore severe earthquake happened in Si Chuan province. Both cause the problems of transportation, communications and hotel reservations in China. Any big international conference and activities should be canceled during June to September, 2008 in China. Although 17WCNDT Secretariat has made great efforts to deal with it but in vain. It is impossible for the participants to get visa into China during that time, the final decision of 17WCNDT organization committee is to postpone the 17WCNDT.
We will have urgent meetings next week and we have also informed ICNDT about that. We will inform all the participants the final decision of when 17WCNDT will be held. We are so apologized for the big trouble to all of you. Your support and understanding is appreciated.
